Miss Manila 2026: Celebrating Empowerment, Heritage, and the Spirit of the City
As Manila gears up for its 455th Araw ng Maynila celebration this June, one of the most anticipated highlights is the prestigious Miss Manila pageant—an event that has long stood as a symbol of beauty, empowerment, and leadership for the city’s finest women.
More than just a pageant, Miss Manila serves as a platform for diversity and social awareness, providing ManileƱas with the opportunity to embody and champion the values of service, intelligence, and excellence. The pageant not only seeks grace and beauty but also celebrates those who can lead, inspire, and make a difference in their communities.
A New Era, A New Symbol
Last April 10, the Miss Manila 2026 logo was proudly unveiled during a press launch at the Diamond Hotel. The logo, inspired by Filipino art deco and the iconic Manila Metropolitan Theatre, blends geometric patterns, organic motifs, and elegant symmetry with nods to the Manila Carnival’s historic pageantry. The design serves as a bridge between Manila’s rich heritage and its present-day vibrancy, presenting Miss Manila as a modern tribute to the city’s past while embracing femininity and empowerment.
The Department of Tourism, Culture, and Arts of Manila, led by Cristal Bagatsing, also introduced the pageant’s key partners—Empire Philippines and Sparkle GMA Artist Center—with the full support of Manila’s dynamic mayor, Isko Moreno-Domagoso. “This collaboration strengthens our vision to elevate the standards of pageantry and expand its impact to a wider audience,” Bagatsing shared.
Casting Call and the ‘Kwentong Maynila’ Narrative
The official casting call for Miss Manila 2026 begins on April 13. Aspiring candidates who possess beauty, intelligence, and the heart of a true ManileƱa are encouraged to join and share their “Kwentong Maynila”—personal stories that reflect their connection to the city, its culture, and its people. Selected candidates will be formally introduced on April 30 during the press presentation, marking the start of their inspiring journey toward the crown.
“This launch also resonates deeply with our city’s brand, ‘Manila, My Manila,’ a call to embrace Manila as not just the nation’s capital but a vibrant hub of culture, creativity, and pride,” said Bagatsing. Meanwhile, Mayor Isko Moreno-Domagoso highlighted Manila’s historic role as the “window of opportunity” for generations and its continued promise as a city for all.
A Rich Legacy and a Future of Opportunity
Miss Manila traces its roots back to the Manila Carnival—predating even the Miss Universe and Binibining Pilipinas pageants—and has been graced by notable figures, including former First Lady Imelda Marcos. Today, the pageant continues this legacy, providing a stage for talented individuals to showcase their skills and leadership.
GMA Network’s Senior Vice President, Annette Gozon-Valdes, expressed excitement over the partnership with Miss Manila. “Manila is very rich in talented and beautiful individuals. We are excited to give candidates, especially the winner, opportunities to enter the showbiz industry.”
Manila, My Manila—A City for All
The revival of the “Manila, My Manila” tagline serves as a reminder of the city’s enduring role in Philippine history and culture, inspired by National Artist Nick Joaquin. “Manila is for everyone,” Mayor Isko Moreno-Domagoso emphasized. “Whether you’re a local, a newcomer, or the next Miss Manila, there’s a place and a story for you here.”
With its renewed vision, Miss Manila 2026 stands as a celebration of heritage, progress, and the limitless potential of ManileƱas to inspire, lead, and make their mark on the world.
