Heart Evangelista Shares Artistic Talents with Children Battling Illnesses in “heArt Gap Gives Back” Event
From fashion icon to artist and entrepreneur, Heart Evangelista recently showcased her talent in drawing during a special workshop for children with cancer and thalassemia. The event, “heArt Gap Gives Back,” was organized by GMA Network in partnership with the Little Ark Foundation and featured Heart leading a live painting session that encouraged young patients to express their creativity.
The Little Ark Foundation is dedicated to providing holistic support to children with critical illnesses and their families. The foundation's mission goes beyond providing medical assistance; it also addresses emotional and spiritual needs through a nurturing community built on love, faith, and hope. By raising awareness and connecting families to resources and caregivers, the foundation ensures that no child or family faces their challenging journey alone.
During the painting session, the children seized the moment to thank Heart, who has long been an advocate and supporter of thalassemia patients. “My journey with thalassemia patients started when I was 21, and they have held a special place in my life ever since,” Heart shared in a heartfelt social media post.
Recently, Heart has been revisiting her passion for art, sharing new works on her social media accounts. In a recent Instagram post, she unveiled a painting in her signature style, captioned “Feelings on display.” Her gesture and latest creations have been met with praise from followers, many of whom believe her paintings reflect the many faces of vulnerability and emotions that are often left unspoken.
“Power to express what words cannot. The diary of the soul…,” commented one follower, highlighting the depth and resonance of Heart’s art.
Heart’s journey as an artist is well established. HHer first solo exhibit, “I am Love Marie: The Art and Works of Love Marie Ongpauco,” took place at Ayala Museum in Makati City in 2014, followed by a show at Chan Hampe Galleries in Singapore in 2015. Beyond traditional canvases, Heart has painted designer handbags, clothing, and other items for both local and international clients. Her “Carry Your HeART” exhibit at Bonifacio Global City also featured her hand-painted luxury handbags to the public for the first time.
In interviews, Heart has described painting as “very therapeutic for me,” underscoring how art provides both healing and inspiration—not just for herself, but for the children she supports and the many who follow her journey.
