In anticipation of the Philippine premiere of the film Backrooms, CreaZion Studios is giving horror fans an opportunity to step into the unsettling world of the viral phenomenon with Backrooms Breakout, an immersive escape room experience at Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City. The event runs from May 23 to June 7 and is designed as a lead-up to the film’s exclusive release in cinemas on June 3, 2026.
The Backrooms Breakout attraction draws inspiration from the internet legend that has fascinated and unnerved millions. Guests will explore a maze of yellow corridors and liminal spaces, echoing the distinct visual style and atmosphere that made Backrooms a widely recognized name in online horror. The experience is crafted to evoke a sense of disorientation and suspense similar to what viewers can expect from the upcoming film.
Access to the escape room is available to those who present a pre-purchased Backrooms movie ticket from Shangri-La Red Carpet Cinemas. Each ticket allows one admission to the attraction, and guests can join multiple times by purchasing additional tickets. Tickets can be secured online or at the cinema box office. Reservations are available in advance on the official website, with each reservation held for 24 hours and confirmed upon proof of purchase.
The immersive experience is limited to 20 game slots per day, with up to 6 players in each session. The attraction operates from 11 AM to 8 PM daily during the event period.
Backrooms, directed by Kane Parsons and produced by A24, features performances from Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve. The film adaptation continues to generate interest following Parsons’ original viral video series and its influence on various forms of media.
