Two Icons, One Vision: Torres and Tanduay Launch Spanish Brandy in the Philippines

Spain-based spirits brand Torres is making its official debut in the Philippine market through a new distribution partnership with Tanduay. The collaboration brings together two renowned houses, both known for their commitment to quality and excellence in the spirits industry.

As part of its initial rollout, Torres will introduce the Torres 5 Light, a premium brandy crafted from quality grapes and aged using the Solera method in oak barrels. Boasting a lighter and more approachable profile, Torres 5 Light is designed to appeal to Filipino tastes, offering delicate aromas of grape, dried fruits, and vanilla, with a smooth, subtly sweet flavor profile. Bottled at 25% ABV, it promises a refined yet accessible drinking experience, best enjoyed over ice.

“This partnership reflects our vision to offer Filipino consumers world-class spirits,” said Lucio Tan III, President and CEO of Tanduay. “The arrival of Torres in the Philippines marks the coming together of two great houses united by a shared commitment to excellence and growth.”

Christian Visalli, Torres Spirits Global Managing Director, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are proud to bring the rich heritage of Spanish brandy to the Philippines. With Tanduay as our distributor, we are confident that Torres products will reach Filipino consumers who appreciate exceptional spirits with authentic Spanish tradition.”

The Torres family has a storied legacy in spirits-making, with roots in Spanish winemaking dating back to the 16th century. The brandy-making journey began in 1928, when Juan Torres Casals began aging brandy in oak barrels using the best white wines from Penedès.

Torres 5 Light and other Torres products will soon be available at leading supermarkets and groceries nationwide, catering to various preferences – from adventurous new drinkers to those seeking a sophisticated, premium experience. Other offerings from the Torres portfolio will also be introduced in the first quarter of the year.
