MUO Issues Statement on Misleading Voting and Event Initiatives Circulating Online

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has released an official statement in response to recent online posts advertising a "Special Dinner & Talk Show" event. The event was promoted on the official Facebook page of Miss Universe Thailand, which is headed by businessperson Nawat Itsaragrisil, also known as the owner of the Miss Grand International pageant. The post stated that the Top 10 candidates with the most likes would be eligible for the dinner and talk show with Mr. Nawat, who also serves as Vice President of Miss Universe Asiana. Nawat encouraged followers to "vote for your country according to your own free will."

The Miss Universe Organization made it clear in its official statement that they do not authorize this event. The MUO emphasized that any independent or third-party activity using the Miss Universe name, logo, or related branding without written authorization constitutes a violation of the organization’s intellectual property rights and brand integrity.

The statement went further to declare that all promotional materials, contests, or voting activities currently being circulated online under the Miss Universe name, including those linked to the Special Dinner & Talk Show, are unauthorized and misleading. MUO clarified that these initiatives do not reflect the values, operations, or official activities of the organization.

Miss Universe Organization also warned that it reserves all legal rights to take action against any individual, company, or entity found misusing its intellectual property, trademarks, or brand assets without proper permission. Such information includes, but is not limited to, the Miss Universe name, logo, imagery, and official event designations.

Asserting its role as the global authority on the Miss Universe brand, the organization reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of transparency, professionalism, and integrity around the world. MUO stressed that it is dedicated to protecting not just its brand but also its delegates, partners, sponsors, and the general public from unauthorized or misleading activities.

The official statement reaffirmed that MUO exclusively distributes all legitimate communications, announcements, and voting initiatives through its verified channels. The organization urged media outlets, sponsors, fans, and the general public to consult only these sources for accurate and authentic information regarding Miss Universe.

Amid the ongoing controversy, a video has circulated online showing Nawat criticizing the Miss Universe Organization. In the video, he claimed that the organization does not know how to run a beauty pageant, particularly in the area of social media and online promotion.

The Miss Universe Organization concluded their statement by emphasizing their intent to continue safeguarding the integrity of their brand worldwide and to take all necessary steps against any unauthorized use or misrepresentation connected to Miss Universe. The MUO encouraged everyone involved to be vigilant and to rely on only official channels for updates and information.
