Samantha da Roza Shines in Upcoming Film “Isla Babuyan,” Premiering October 1st at Robinsons Cinemas

Talented entrepreneur and model Samantha da Roza is set to captivate audiences in the highly anticipated film “Isla Babuyan,” debuting in Robinsons Cinemas nationwide on October 1st. In this new role, Samantha portrays the adopted daughter of veteran actress Lotlot de Leon, showcasing her impressive versatility as a performer.
"It was a learning experience for me, kasi bilang newcomer, I didn't know what to expect. But when I got to the set, everybody is so kind and very open to working with me even if I was a newbie. Of course I didn't know exactly how things go, but given my theater background parang okay lang ako and Ms. Lotlot and everyone there were very supportive," Samantha shared when asked how was it working in her very first movie project.
On what pushed her to enter the industry, Samantha noted that throughout the epidemic, while studying, she had a lot of time to reflect on what she wanted to do and achieve in life. Following that, she felt compelled to pursue a career in show business. She believes it serves as a natural platform for her to express her creativity—whether through acting, singing, or perhaps one day writing for films or producing, utilizing the skills she gained in college.
Hailing from the prominent Diaz family, with her mother Cathy da Roza (a former top model), uncle Robin da Roza, and grandmother Gloria Diaz, Samantha continues to make her mark in the industry as an entrepreneur and ramp and commercial model.
Samantha stated that she is not scared of her family's legacy and wishes to be the type of person who speaks up without fear, despite being related to someone in the industry and being viewed as a nepo baby. "Yes, nepo baby ako. Pero what I do with my connections is what's important. I'm always in learning mode and I always want to improve myself. Of course, may baggage din yung family name and I hope I can be a good addition to the family's legacy."
Samantha heeded the advice of her grandmother, Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz: "Be yourself. Be confident. Be your own biggest supporter." She also revealed that she was one of the artists who took to the streets to join the massive anti-corruption protest on September 21.
Now managed by LVD Management under Rey Lanada and Freddie Blasco, Samantha is breaking new ground in Filipino entertainment. Don’t miss the chance to witness her stunning performance in “Isla Babuyan” and experience the magic of Filipino cinema at its finest, starting October 1st.
