Jollibee is marking a major milestone by joining forces with DreamWorks Animation for the worldwide theatrical release of Forgotten Island on September 23, 2026. The collaboration brings together global entertainment and Filipino culture, as the animated film heads to cinemas across the globe.
Forgotten Island follows the adventure of lifelong best friends Jo and Raissa, who stumble upon a mysterious portal transporting them to Nakali—a magical world inspired by Filipino myths and legends. As they seek a way back home, the friends discover that their return may mean losing their cherished memories together, leading to a heartfelt tale about friendship, family, and identity.
The film boasts an impressive roster of Filipino and Filipino-American talent, including Tony Award winner Lea Salonga, comedy star Jo Koy, Grammy and Academy Award-winning musician H.E.R., actress Liza Soberano, and co-writer/co-director Januel Mercado. Their involvement puts Filipino storytelling and artistry at the forefront of a major Hollywood release.
“Great stories and great food both have a way of bringing people together,” said David Beal, Jollibee Group global chief marketing officer and head of digital marketing. “With DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island, we’re inviting friends and families to celebrate the joy of friendship—from watching the film to sharing a delicious Jollibee meal together.”
Adding to the cultural celebration, Filipino pop group BINI—who are also Jollibee endorsers—contributed the track “A Parallel World” to the movie’s soundtrack. The upbeat electronic-pop song, featuring both English and Filipino lyrics, was released on July 23 and performed by BINI at the Forgotten Island panel during San Diego Comic-Con.
The music video for “A Parallel World” further highlights the Jollibee connection, with BINI members enjoying their favorite Jollibee meals and sharing moments from their stay in the United States while recording the song. The campaign expands the film’s reach and connects it to fans worldwide.
“At Jollibee, we value partnerships that allow us to collaborate with world-class brands and create experiences that genuinely resonate with our customers,” said Dorothy Ching, vice president for marketing of Jollibee Philippines. “Our partnership with DreamWorks is especially meaningful because Forgotten Island brings together universal themes of friendship and family with Filipino-inspired storytelling.”
Jollibee’s collaboration with DreamWorks and Forgotten Island highlights not just Filipino talent but also the brand’s mission of fostering togetherness—bringing the cinematic experience into everyday moments shared over a meal.
More elements of this partnership are set to be revealed, including an exclusive Jollibee offer tied to the film. Details will be announced soon as anticipation builds for the September 23 release of Forgotten Island.
