Thailand’s DITP brings 18 leading content companies to Manila for ‘THAI CONTENT IN THE PHILIPPINES 2026’
The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, is set to bring 18 top Thai companies from the film, drama, series, television, and related service sectors to Manila for “THAI CONTENT IN THE PHILIPPINES 2026,” from 26–28 August 2026. The event aims to boost business partnerships, open new trade opportunities, and expand Thai content’s reach in the Philippine and wider ASEAN markets.
The initiative underscores the growing demand for Thai content in the Philippines, where the entertainment sector is rapidly expanding thanks to a robust creative economy, the rise of digital platforms, and a large youth and working-age population. According to DITP Director-General Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, the Philippines represents a high-potential market for Thai media and entertainment companies, given the increasing popularity of Thai content and artists among Filipino audiences.
The three-day program is designed to facilitate business connections, foster information exchange, and explore content licensing, co-productions, and investment opportunities. The delegation includes Thai companies with strong domestic and international track records, ready to showcase a diverse portfolio tailored to the Philippine market.
The event comprises three main activities. Company visits on August 26 and 27 will see Thai participants meeting with Philippine content companies and distributors, deepening their understanding of the market and exploring potential collaborations.
On August 28, a Business Matching session at New World Makati Hotel will bring together the Thai delegates and Philippine importers, distributors, digital platforms, and potential partners for in-depth discussions on licensing, cooperation, and trade.
The same evening, a Networking Dinner Talk at the hotel will provide an informal platform for Thai and Filipino stakeholders to build relationships and discuss future collaborations.
Ms. Sunanta stated, “The Department of International Trade Promotion is committed to continuously expanding opportunities for Thailand’s content industry in international markets. The Philippines is one of ASEAN’s strategic markets with strong potential, both in terms of its consumer base and its dynamic media and entertainment industry. This initiative will create new business opportunities, strengthen networks and cooperation between Thai and Philippine businesses, and support the expansion of content licensing and co-production opportunities while enhancing the competitiveness of Thailand’s content industry in both regional and global markets.
DITP’s ongoing efforts include supporting Thai companies at regional and international trade events, aiming to foster sustainable industry growth and position Thailand as a regional content hub.
