Max Mango, the beloved Filipino-owned dessert and beverage brand known for its delightful mango-based creations, has launched its inaugural outreach initiative on Labor Day. In a heartfelt gesture, the brand offered complimentary drinks to laborers, particularly public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and riders, who are feeling the impact of the recent oil price surge in the country. The event took place at the N. Domingo branch of Max Mango in San Juan.
Max Mango CEO Ms. Jochell Quinones, affectionately referred to as the “Mango Queen,” led the initiative. According to Executive Associate Sophia Martinez, the idea was to give back to hardworking laborers and loyal customers, acknowledging their perseverance even during challenging times.
“Marami tayong mga laborer na nagta-trabaho pa rin kahit Labor Day. Syempre hindi nawawala sa kanila yung pangangailangan na magtrabaho pa rin. Para lang makabawi kahit papaano, magkaroon sila ng refreshment sa araw na ito,” Martinez shared.
Around 200 individuals, including PUV drivers, riders, and various laborers, received free Max Mango drinks during the activity. “Sana na-refresh sila at maramdaman nila na kasama nila kami, lalo na ngayon panahon ng crisis. Nakaka-init ng ulo pero dapat fresh lang,” Martinez added, expressing hope that the initiative brought a bit of comfort and relief.
Max Mango, aside from being known for its delicious mango drinks, also prides itself on helping people build their own businesses and providing jobs to hundreds of employees.
When asked about future outreach activities, Martinez said plans are underway to make the initiative a yearly tradition, not just for Labor Day but also for other important holidays.
In her message for the country’s hardworking laborers this Labor Day, Martinez said, “Saludo kami sa inyo dahil nakakayanan ninyong magtrabaho araw-araw para kumita at mapaghandaan ang kinabukasan ng pamilya.”
Despite the current crisis, the smiles and gratitude from the beneficiaries make every effort worthwhile for Max Mango, whose commitment to community service remains as refreshing as their signature drinks.
