P-pop group WRIVE launches debut song

This August, the Spotlight Press Conference held at Coffee Project, Wil Tower, Quezon City, featured rising P-pop act WRIVE. The group, made up of Russu, Asi, Ishiro, Drei, and Mathew, brought a lively energy that made the session both fun and engaging.

From their beginnings as contestants on the survival show Dream Maker, the five artists once pursued the same dream individually. Now, united as WRIVE, they are turning that dream into reality as they step into the spotlight together.

“Lahat po kami dumaan sa rejection—iba-iba man ‘yung naging simula namin, pare-pareho kaming hindi sumuko sa pangarap. Pinili naming ituloy ‘yung gusto talaga naming gawin, at yung ang maging isang idol at mag-perform sa stage,” Asi shared, recalling their journey as a group.

After two years of intensive training and preparation, WRIVE is steadily establishing their presence in the P-pop scene. The group first introduced their talent with the pre-debut single “Hollywood” at the New Gen Champs Concert in 2024, followed by the soundtrack release “Color Clash.”

In 2025, they officially marked their debut with a digital single album featuring “Ooh La La” and “Señorita.” Their lead track, “Ooh La La,” signals a confident entry into the industry, showcasing the group’s distinct sound and performance style.

Most recently, WRIVE further engaged fans with the release of the “Ooh La La” performance video on ABS-CBN Star Music’s official YouTube channel. WRIVE has developed a sound and style they can proudly call their own. “Sa music po namin, very Pinoy, hip-hop, swag, and sexy, pinaghalo po namin siya. Sa looks naman, may angas and very streetwear,” Russu said.

WRIVE has also revealed plans to release their first full album, slated for the end of 2025. “‘Yang ‘Ooh La La’ at ‘Señorita’ ay patikim pa lang,” they all teased.

Russu said, teasing more of their activies in the future: “Dadalhin namin kayo sa iba’t-ibang destinasyon. Excited na rin po kaming iparinig yung mga gawa namin.”

With their debut era just beginning, WRIVE is determined to bring fresh energy to the P-pop stage. Their story is only starting to unfold, and fans can expect more music, performances, and milestones from this rising group in the months ahead.
