Notable LGBTQIA+ films make a comeback at Ayala Cinemas in partnership with Viva Films for Reel Pride!

The Pride Month celebration continues! In support of the month-long event dedicated to the LGBTQIA+ community, Viva Films and Ayala Cinemas are set to re-release notable Pride movies from renowned directors and artists. Celebrate Pride and catch your favorite movies at the AYALA REEL PRIDE, from JUNE 25 to JULY 1, 2025, at Ayala Malls Cinemas.

The movie event features four compelling stories about love in all forms and genders. The featured titles are the classics PUSONG MAMON (1998) and MACHO DANCER (1988) and two movies released in 2022, TWO AND ONE and MAHAL KITA, BEKSMAN.

Pusong Mamon is a 1998 film starring award-winning actors Lorna Tolentino, Eric Quizon, and Albert Martinez. Directed by Joel Lamangan and Eric Quizon, Pusong Mamon is a funny and heartwarming story about three people and their extraordinary relationship.

It follows the story of Annie (Lorna Tolentino), who gets knocked up by her office crush, Ron (Albert Martinez), only to find out that Ron is gay and is in a long-term relationship with his boyfriend, Nick (Eric Quizon). The three of them live together and must deal with each other's differences and odd setup as Annie insists Ron care for her.

Another featured film is by National Artist Lino Brocka, starring Jaclyn Jose, Daniel Fernando, and Allan Paule. The 1988 drama film Macho Dancer follows a poor teenager named Pol as he relocates to Manila, where his roommate introduces him to prostitution. As he gives in to the fame and fortune that his new career brings, Pol is also exposed to its dark side as he helps to find his roommate’s sister, whom they believe has been sold into sexual slavery.

Macho Dancer earned multiple nominations in the FAMAS awards. Daniel Fernando and Jaclyn Jose, meanwhile, won the best actor and best actress awards at Gawad Urian.

Two and One is a 2022 film about a young couple, Tino and Chan, who run away from their troubles and decide to live together in a small beach town in the province. Their already complicated relationship faces a new level of drama when they meet a strange man named Joaquin, and they end up having a threesome. A film by Ivan Andrew Payawal stars Miggy Jimenez, Cedrick Juan, and Paolo Pangilinan.

Mahal Kita, Beksman is also a 2022 film. Mahal Kita, Beksman is a comedy movie about a reverse coming-out story, created by the same team behind the critically acclaimed LGBTQIA+ films Die Beautiful and The Panti Sisters.

It follows the story of Dali, a young man who grew up in a family of loving gays. As a talented makeup artist and designer, Dali's family assumes that he is also a gay man, just like them. But much to their surprise, Dali confesses that he is straight and is in love with a woman named Angel.

How will Dali’s family accept who he really is? And how will he also prove to Angel’s family that he is a straight man with nothing but pure intentions for Angel? A film by Perci Intalan, Mahal Kita, Beksman stars Christian Bables, Keempee de Leon, and Iana Bernardez.

Four intriguing and engaging storylines—all highlight and put the LGBTQIA+ in the spotlight. Don’t miss the chance to witness these four amazing films as they return to the big screen. Visit the nearest Ayala Mall Cinemas and catch the AYALA REEL PRIDE from JUNE 25 to JULY 1, 2025.
